French Davis Cup Lineup TBD
The lineup for the French Davis Cup team is still under consideration only ten days before the opening match against the U.S., according to yesterday’s Florida Sun-Sentinel.
French Captain Guy Forget is at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami on a scouting mission, and may go with 16th-ranked Paul Henri-Mathieu instead of the slumping Richard Gasquet. Mathieu beat Carlos Moya in the third round but lost 6-4, 6-4 to Rafael Nadal on Tuesday afternoon. Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will almost certainly be the other singles line, however, Forget has four doubles teams to choose from, although most expect it will be Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra.
U.S. Captain Patrick McEnroe announced last week that the American team that won the Cup last year–Roddick, Blake and the Bryan brothers at doubles–will remain unchanged.
