Blake and Roddick Reach Quarters in Rome

James Blake pulled out a three-set win over Fernando Verdasco, and Andy Roddick knocked the last Italian in the tournament.  Both Americans are into the quarters and set up for a possible all-American semifinal in the draw of the Italian Open.

Roddick’s post-match interview included some repartee with the foreign press, such as this one:

Q. Will be 26 this year. How much do you still think you can evolve as a player?
ANDY RODDICK: Hopefully a lot.

Q. Care to elaborate?
ANDY RODDICK: No. How much do you think you can evolve as a journalist? You look younger than me.

Q. I am.
ANDY RODDICK: See, the world is yours.
