American Odesnik Overcomes Canas
South African-born American Wayne Odesnik ranked 106 in the world going into the French Open, upset 29th-seeded Argentine Guillermo Canas on Monday, wining three straight sets all in tiebreakers. The 22-year-old lefty lives in Weston, Fla., and is 10-16 for his ATP career, with his previous best reaching the semifinals in Houston. His next opponent is Korean Hyung-Taik Lee who defeated Swede Jonas Bjorkman in straight sets.
