Roddick Drops Out of Roland Garros with Injury
Still suffering from an ailment to his back and shoulder suffered in the Italian Open where he reached the semis, Andy Roddick on Monday withdrew from the 2008 French Open starting on Sunday.
“Andy is pulling out with an upper back shoulder injury, the same thing that he had in Rome,” John Roddick, Andy’s brother told the Associated Press.
Roddick’s chances until the injury looked better in France this year because had played well on the clay in Italy and previously looked strong in Davis Cup in April and won the Dubai tournament in March. John Roddick told the AP that Andy hopes to be ready for the grass court season starting after the French Open final on June 8.
