Roddick Retires Down 3-0 in Italian Open Semis
A back spasm forced Andy Roddick to surrender at 0-3, love-15 in the first set of Saturday’s semifinal in the Italian Open. Stanislaw Wawrinka moves onto the finals where he will face Novak Djokovic. In the other semifinal, Djokovic was leading Radek Stepanek 6-0, 1-0 when Stepanak retired, making for a very disappointing day of tennis on the red clay of Rome. Both semifinals consisted of a total of only ten games.
