The Davis Cup Match That Never Was Will Be in Miami
When Roger Federer threw his Davis Cup Swiss teammates under the bus earlier this month in Birmingham against the U.S., it spoiled the anticipation of a matchup with Roddick on American soil. While the Miami crowd won’t be as partisan as the Birmingham Davis Cup fans would have been, Roddick will get a chance against Federer in Miami on Wednesday night in the quaterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open. Although Roddick is 2-16 career against Federer, he beat him in Miami last year, and you can bet will be eager for a repeat.

Federer on Tuesday ended Taylor Dent’s impressive comeback, but you can count on Dent’s ranking moving up above the 467 slot he was holding.
