Is Agassi Crystal Meth Confession Really a Huge Surprise?

The tennis world, including Roger Federer, professed to be shocked this week at the Agassi revelation that he used crystal meth in 1997 and then lied his way out of an ATP suspension, only two years before completing the career Grand Slam by winning the French Open.  Agassi transformed over the years into a warrior and one of the game’s most upstanding and charitable citizens, but is it really a big surprise that a Las Vegas-raised dude who once played matches in denim tennis shorts over hot pink spandex and styled his hair like he was in Mötley Crüe might have smoked a little something highly illegal now and again?
