    • Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin.]]>     The Bryan brothers came up short in Monte Carlo for their bid for their fifth tournament win in 2009, but they are having a stellar season nonetheless.  They were 4-0 in finals so far this year, including the Australian Open to start the year.  Turning 30 last year — they will turn 31 on April 29 – has not slowed the twins down.  The fate of American men’s tennis is often bemoaned (including by me, I confess — no one showed in Monte Carlo for singles) but there has never been a better American doubles team — and with eight more tournament wins, they can tie the all-time record for doubles championships.  They will break the Woodies’ record, and they deserve more recognition than they get (are you listening, Sports Illustrated?).  Here’s more below from their web site, http://www.bobandmike.com (be sure to check out the score of the deciding tiebreaker): Bob and Mike have advanced to the final in Monte Carlo.  They won a thrilling semifinal over Dlouhy/Paes 6-7(3), 6-2, 14-12 MTB.  The match lasted one hour and thirty-two minutes.  This brings the Bryans career head to head against them to 3-0.
