			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Andy Roddick and James Blake are playing the <a href="http://www.fft.fr/cms/GetDoc.asp?Type=5&amp;ID=8684" target="_blank">PNB Paribas Masters </a>in Paris this week, fighting to win two of the three spots remaining in the draw of the year-end Masters Cup in Shanghai starting Nov. 9.  <a href="http://www.masters-cup.com/2/players/singles/" target="_blank">Five players </a>have already qualified.  It&#8217;s a wide open race, with Roddick holding the most points of players yet to qualify, while Blake, at tenth place, has much ground to make up. </p>
<p>Here is a breakdown of the race from the <a href="http://www.masters-cup.com/1/news/2008/oneweektoplay.asp" target="_blank">Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai 2009 web site</a> :  &#8220;The Nos. 6-8 players are Andy Roddick with 369 points, Juan Martin del Potro (354) and Gilles Simon (341). Spaniard David Ferrer (338), who reached last year&#8217;s final in Shanghai, slipped from No. 7 to No. 9 and trails Simon by three points. Both del Potro and Simon passed Ferrer with semifinal results in Basel and Lyon, respectively.</p>
<p>Other players within reach are: No. 10 James Blake (310), No. 11 Stanislas Wawrinka (301), No. 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (290), No. 14/last year&#8217;s champion David Nalbandian (275), No. 15 Fernando Verdasco (268), No. 16 Gael Monfils (264) and No. 17 Robin Soderling (258). No. 13 Fernando Gonzalez withdrew from Paris.&#8221;</p>
